The daily peak shaving supply capacity has increased by 2 million cubic meters year-on-year, setting a new historical high. The Kela Beautiful Gas Production Area is the largest gas production area in Xinjiang Oilfield, with a daily gas production of over 3 million cubic meters in winter and an annual natural gas production of over 1 billion cubic meters for seven consecutive years. This year, the processing station has implemented a management mode of "normalized self inspection and rectification, real-time production information, and standardized equipment operation". An emergency team composed of technical personnel in processes, instruments, and equipment has been formed to coordinate and optimize the performance parameters of the equipment. URUMQI -- The photovoltaic power project in the Tarim Oilfield has generated over 105 million kWh of green electricity so far this year, said its operator, China National Petroleum Corporation, on Saturday. The green energy is equivalent to 22,200 tons of standard oil, reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 70,500 tons, and the electricity that can be used by more than 40,000 households for one year, which has effectively guaranteed the soaring power demand in southern Xinjiang. Of the green electricity generated, nearly 20 percent was consumed within the oilfield to reduce the load of the grid, the company added. Located in Northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, Tarim Basin is a major petroliferous basin in China. The company has discovered and developed 32 large and medium-sized oil and gas fields -- with the total output exceeding 470 million tonnes over the past 30-plus years. Taking advantage of the region's rich solar energy resources, the company has been increasing its pace in the construction of photovoltaic power stations in recent years. A new 500,000 kW photovoltaic power station in Yecheng county is expected to be connected to the grid this year.

The three main types of Oil Country Tubular Goods are drill pipe, casing, and tubing. Drill pipe: Drill pipe is heavy, seamless pipe which provides rotation for circulating the drilling fluid. The pipe helps the drilling fluid to be pumped back up the annulus. The annulus of an oil well is the space between the casing and the piping or any immediate space between any casing and tubing surrounding it. The annulus helps in the easy circulation of the fluid in the well. The pipe is subject to axial tension, as high torque is required for rotating the down-hole assembly and drilling the fluid and circulating it. All this creates a large amount of stress on the drill pipe, hence the OCTG pipe should be extremely strong. This drill pipe is used only at the drilling rigs and they are available in different sizes and different qualities. The quality differs based on the grade of strength, weight, and length of the pipe. The OCTG Drill Pipe is sturdy steel pipe which is required to meet the standards of API 5DP and API SPEC 7-1. Casing: Casing is used for lining the complete borehole which has been dug into the ground to procure oil. Similar to the drill pipe, the oil well casing pipe is also subjected to axial tension, therefore they are required to be made from high-quality strong steel material. OCTG casing is large diameter pipe which is held in place in the borehole using cement. The diameters of OCTG casing pipe range from 4.5″ to 36″. The well-cemented pipe acts as the structural component of the well and offers hole integrity. It prevents the well from collapsing when the drilling process is on. Good quality, well cemented casing can stay in place for the whole life of the well. Tubing: Oil well tubing pipe is inserted inside the wellbore through the oil well casing pipe, which helps the transportation of the hydrocarbons to the surface. It is pipe either used for transporting natural gas or crude oil to the facilities for further processing after the drilling is complete. Similar to the drill pipe and casing, tubing is subjected to high pressure during the extraction process, and needs to be thick, strong, and sturdy. Production tubing is available in various sizes ranging from ¾" to 4 ½". The oil well tubing protects the oil well casing from wear and tear due to corrosive fluids, sand, paraffin etc. Tubing can be replaced in case of damage, which is not possible with oil well casing.

US troops stationed in Syria looted hundreds of metric tons of crude oil in Iraq on Sunday. This was the third time they did so this year. Earlier, the troops had mobilized 73 oil tankers on April 9 and 23 tankers on April 3 to transport their ill-gotten gains. In 2022, the Syrian government said US troops pillaged 66,000 barrels of oil every day, which is about 83 percent of Syria's total oil production. It is anybody's guess why the US went into Iraq, Libya or anywhere in the Middle East and North Africa. That it is openly stealing oil from Syria, however, takes the cake. Since the civil war broke out in Syria in 2011, the US and its allies have been actively intervening to pull down the government there. US warplanes have been bombing Syrian government forces, supplying arms and ammunition to the opposition forces, and pouring scorn at Syrian diplomats in international forums. Even though the civilian strife has largely stabilized, the Syrian government has lost control of many places in the country. The Kurdish forces, and the Islamic State that emerged later, still control places in Syria. This disintegration of Syria gave the US a chance to take advantage of the situation. When it takes oil, it claims it is from oilfields controlled by the opposition forces; but it even takes oil from Syrian territory and claims it is to help the Kurdish forces. Anybody familiar with the situation in the Middle East knows how Delta Crescent Energy, a US-based company, has inked a contract with the Kurdish authorities to "develop" and export the region's crude oil under a secretive deal. China's State-owned oil majors rallied on Monday as expectations over accelerated reform of State-owned enterprises grew after regulators vowed new measures to bolster the competitiveness of SOEs. On Monday, PetroChina Co Ltd, the listed arm of State-owned energy giant China National Petroleum Corp, jumped 7.17 percent - the biggest gain in about three weeks - to close at 7.62 yuan ($1.08) per share after falling by more than 17 percent from its recent high in early May. The other two State-owned oil majors - China Petroleum & Chemical Corp and CNOOC Ltd - rose 5.34 percent and 2.06 percent on Monday, respectively. The rally among energy heavyweights underpinned a 0.28 percent gain for the Shanghai Composite Index on Monday, which closed at 3221.45 points, whereas other benchmark indexes tracking A shares dropped. Experts said the gains by oil majors may be a sign that investor sentiment of "the valuation system with Chinese characteristics" - which suggests that the valuation of SOEs has the scope to improve - has strengthened following regulators' latest commitments to boost the development of listed SOEs. Wang Jianjun, vice-chairman of the China Securities Regulatory Commission, said over the weekend that the top securities regulator will work with other authorities to implement a new round of plans to deepen SOE reforms and improve the competitiveness of listed SOEs. That will be part of the country's efforts to improve the quality of listed companies, which also seek to support the development and growth of private listed companies, Wang told the Annual Congress of China Association for Public Companies and the 2023 Chinese Listed Companies Summit on Saturday. Zhao Shitang, vice-chairman of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council, said at the summit that the commission will support central SOEs leveraging the capital market and achieving outstanding performance in terms of their main business, governance and integrity. Meng Lei, China equities strategist at UBS Securities, said he expects SOE reforms to accelerate and boost the profitability and dividend payout ratios of State-owned listed companies while improving their corporate governance. To assess the sustainability of the market rally of SOEs, Meng said investors can monitor SOEs' interim results, which are set to be released in August and could shed more light on their potential operating efficiency improvements, as well as any further policy guidance on SOE reforms and the valuation system with Chinese characteristics. "For now, SOEs appear undervalued and trading at only half their non-SOE counterparts' valuations," Meng said. While some SOEs may lag non-SOEs in a number of operating metrics, Meng said he does not think the fundamentals of SOEs are as bad as the large valuation gap suggests. Wang also vowed to promote the high-quality development of listed companies as a whole, including rolling out a set of regulations for listed company supervision and improving rules regarding mergers and acquisitions and equity incentive plans. To strictly punish financial fraud by listed firms, Wang said the commission will improve a long-term mechanism aimed at combating financial scams, launch a special program to resolve severe malpractice and misappropriation of funds and step up efforts to hold those involved in fraudulent activities accountable. Song Zhiping, chairman of the China Association for Public Companies, said the self-regulatory organization will strengthen training for listed company directors, supervisors and senior managers to boost their awareness of compliance and enhance their ability to perform their duties.
